At the beginning of my tenure at Zones, the website had a dated product/promotion layout with a dark color palette. I immedately redesigned the homepage with a lighter color palette to bring it inline with ecommerce best practices. As the company moved away from a product oriented selling approach and put more emphasis on solutions & services, the design evolved. The the goal for this latest design was to focus attention on solutions & services and leverage a subtle video background, representing Zones as a high-tech organization.

After Zones had chosen Microsoft Dynamics CRM, we needed to migrate the legacy order management system into the new application. I took all the existing functionality in the old platform, accounted for it and audited for any UX or logic improvements. I then designed a one-page order form with an emphasis on UX leveraging jQuery and we built a custom application natively within the CRM app. The end result reduced training time and user frustration, increase order accuracy and efficiency.

The recruiting department needed a new site to professionally represent the organization and optimize the Taleo application experience. We built them a clean, easy to navigate wordpress site hosted on a subdomain on Microsoft Azure.

ZonesConnect is the My Account section where returning customers make new and repeat purchases through the zones.com portal. The site drives over 500mm in revenue so the sensitivity around the project was high. We re-designed every page leveraging new web technologies like asyncronous loading, jQuery and CSS3. The site launched without any show-stopping bugs and we were able to successfully make a dramatic improvement to the portal.

As part of the careers.zones.com website project, we needed professional studio shots of a variety of Zones employees. I was on-set directing the photographer with setup, composition and content requirements. I performed all the post-production work to correct lighting and photo content.

Their old look & feel was dated and they wanted something that appealed to the new mother with a friendly color palette. The site received over 1mm unique vistors a month so we recommended they stay with their current site platform for SEO reasons.

Roland DGA apprached us with the opportunity to build a world-wide contest engine. We built a custom application front-end where users submitted their artwork and a custom programmed admin where the submissions could be managed. The site was translated into 15 languages and catered to over 60 countries. We completed the entire site from concept to completion in less than a month.
